PLEASE NOTE: Requests for Speaking Lab tutors during the Spring 2017 semester are no longer being accepted. Check back in the Fall!
The Speaking Lab, staffed by peer consultants, assists students from any course or discipline with oral presentations for courses or conferences. Although consultants will not write a presentation, they are trained to provide assistance with all aspects of the development of oral presentations, including topic selections, organization, use of presentation software, communication apprehension, and delivery.
Students request a consultant through the online system, at the CSL front desk, or over the phone and then contact the consultant to then make an appointment with them. This process can take up to 72 hours so it's important to plan ahead. Walk-in hours are also available during the Spring 2017 semester on Mondays from 1-6pm and Wednesdays from 12:30-3pm. The walk-in hours accommodate speech preparation and consultation only; if you'd like to record a presentation, please use the by appointment process described above.
